During your first massage, the therapist will discuss your health history, goals, and preferences. You’ll undress to your comfort level and lie on a comfortable table, covered by a sheet or towel. The therapist will only uncover the area being worked on.
Wear whatever makes you comfortable. Most clients undress to their underwear or go completely unclothed, but you’ll always be draped with a sheet or towel for privacy.
Sessions typically last 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes, depending on your preference and the type of massage.
Some techniques, like deep tissue massage, may cause mild discomfort, especially in areas with tension. However, massage should never be painful—always let your therapist know if it feels uncomfortable.
